The organizers

The conference is organized by Department of Philology and the Department of Humanities of the University of Szczecin and is part of a research program financed by the Natonal Science Center (Poland).

Academic teacher of Gender Studies at the Institute of Applied Social Sciences, University of Warsaw in the year 2004 and 2006.  Author of Private, public, autobiographical. About the essays and the diaries of Jan Lechoń, Zofia Nałkowska, Maria Kuncewiczowa and Jerzy Stempowski. Warszawa: DIG, 2010 and Provinces of Literature. Polish women’s prose after 1956. Aby go zobaczyć, konieczne jest włączenie w przeglądarce obsługi JavaScript. ) - assistant professor in Institute of History and International Relationships of University of Szczecin (Poland) and researcher in Institute of National Remembrance. He is dealing with the history of the 20th century, with particular reference to the problems of ideology and practice of the communism. Author of many works, among others Międzynarodowy komunista. Jerzy Borejsza – biografia polityczna (The International Communist. Jerzy Borejsza – political biography) (Warszawa 2009), Przesilenie. Szczecińskie społeczeństwo i władza w styczniu i lutym 1971 r. (Turning point. The Szczecin Society and the Power in January-February 1971) (Szczecin 2010). At present he is preparing the selection of documents under the title Comintern and Poland (1919–1943) and collective portrait of the elite of Polish communists of the interwar age.

He holds an M.A. in Comparative Literature from the Università degli Studi di Genova, Italy and a PhD in Human Studies from the University of Szczecin. His main academic interests are: literary theory and Holocaust studies. His recent interests include sports as a bodily experience represented in Holocaust literature. Re-writing Holocaust literature), published in 2014, was awarded by the Jewish Historical Institute in Warsaw, Poland.
